Akwaaba News Network is a registered Ghanaian media organization with our primary target audience being an estimated 1million Ghanaian citizens in the United States, and millions of non-Ghanaians interested in African culture, and current affairs from the African continent.
Akwaaba Radio regularly collaborates with Ghanaian corporate and non-profit organizations through public events, national and regional festivals, and other initiatives that highlight the creativity, achievements and entrepreneurial skills of Ghanaians all over the world.
Akwaaba Radio is a community online radio station. That means if you live in any Ghanaian Community around the world, you could get involved. Community radio is all about the community.
Akwaaba Radio’s current audience demographic range between 16-24 years for youth oriented programs, and 25-60 years for our educational and social programs. Our on-line station began two years ago and gradually evolved as volunteer presenters were trained to use the equipment and represent the community. We have a broad range of content and hope to expand genres as new people join.
Several presenters are successfully reaching deep into the community to obtain interesting and locally relevant material which will not be represented by mainstream media outlets. Other shows will hopefully explore ways to encourage community participation and develop new styles of content as resources and volunteer skills increase.
